Spoofin' Frozen

So much to like about Frozen! Sure, parts of it are iffy; the back story is a little weak (I sure don't get the "powers" deal), and like most Disney flicks with Barbie shaped princesses, little girls will need to be told that good girls need to cover up better; still, there is a lot to like. (I love the troll song! :) Even Elsa, who struts her stuff and glares like a "bad girl," eventually finds her way through true love.  I really can't elaborate too much for fear of spoiling it for people who haven't seen it, but the main gist, that perfect love casts out fear, is so powerful.

Even more powerful is the truth in the way the super-catchy tune, "Let It Go," can be parodied. My kids helped me with this, so hope you like it. If you don't, just blame me, not them. :) Here it goes!

Temptation beckons to me
I can feel its icy grasp
A kingdom of desolation
Where my sin has kept me trapped
Like a swirling storm it ravages
And tears me up inside
Couldn't keep it in
Heaven knows I've tried

But in my pain now suddenly
Appears the Good One that I could never be
He takes my hand, I'm white as snow...
And now I know...

Let it go
Let it go
Sin can't hold me back anymore
Let it go
Let it go
Turn away and slam the door
Jesus died for my soul to save
He defeated sin
Now it can't conquer me anymore

It's funny how some distance makes everything seem small
And the closer to God's love I get
I don't hunger for sin at all
It's time to see what God can do
To trust him always through and through
I look to Him and then I see...

Let it go
Let it go
He created the earth and sky
Let it go
Let it go
He sees me when I cry
Here I stand
And here I'll stay
In His loving hand

His power surges through the lightning to the ground
My soul is hungering for this same power to be found
His word has promised that the victory's won at last
I'm never going back
The past is in the past

Let it go
Let it go
Jesus rose at the break of dawn
Let it go
Let it go
He told me all my sins are gone
Here I stand cause He took my place
In His mighty arms
Sin cannot conquer me any way!
